Just wanna note that a typical PC PSU(300 watt) uses ~6 watt when turned off by
the on/off switch on the computer.
That means you can charge a USB device like the mp3 player ZEN V,
even if the computer is off, and if you dont have anything to charge,
the best thing is to turn off the mains.
I bougth a rail width a on/off swith and 6 mains plugs, so when i turn off my
computer
i switch off the mains to the computer and the 4 transformers, 1 for the
speakers,
and 2 for extrenal hard drives and 1 for the router.
a side note.
A running 300 watt PC psu uses about 12 watt, with nothing connectet,
and jump startet with a connection from the green wire to black(0v).
