The current was being discussed. There is no energy storage device between
the batteries and the inverter so that if the load is a sinusoid so is the
supply current. Also the output voltage of the batteries is mostly pulsating
dc. Most lead acid batteries are more inductive than one would guess. Low
esr electrolytic caps are effective when added to the input terminals of an
inverter especially if there is some distance between the battery and
inverter as is the case in my boat. This reduces some of the rms heating in
the batteries with sineusoid current loads.
