For the portable, I would use one of the Honda EU series generators.
They are high quality and very quiet. I have an EU2000i and and
EU3000is.
The EU2000i is very lightweight (~47 lbs) and can be lifted easily
into the back of a pickup, etc. The EU3000is is quieter than the
EU2000i, but is too heavy for most people to lift (130 lbs). It fits
on a hand cart well, though. So, one person could get it in a pickup
with a loading ramp very easily.
If you want more power or need 220V in your portable generator, Honda
has an EU6500is. It has wheels and handles like a wheelbarrow. I would
guess that one person could probably push it up into the back of a
pickup with a ramp (253 lbs).
Honda also makes a 1000W model by the way, the EU1000i that weighs 29
lbs.
