Actually, PV panels don't work worth a crap at night, and wind tends to die
down at night also in most locations. So just when most folks would want to
charge their electric cars, those resources won't be available. (I am not
knocking PV, I have a small system myself)

What do you actually KNOW about nuclear power anyhow? ...or do you just have
an OPINION?

So you're not going to show up here with your signs, eh? Thought not.

I know that this is like teasing as retarded kid but I just can't resist.

Funny thing about "here". Up here in the woods, here in God's country, I get
direct sunlight for a oh, a couple of hours a day on a clear day. That's all
I want since it means that I don't have to run the AC much.

Funny thing about wind too. There ain't any. Nada. None. I have a cute
little weather station and among the instruments is an anemometer. It says
that the average wind speed so far today is zero. The average for the last 7
days is zero. The highest it has ever recorded is 21 mph and that was during
a near-tornado.

I guess that I could slap up some solar cells or a wind mill and connect my
electric vehicles to them but something tells me that I'd not be driving much.

Funny thing about TVA's power. It's almost always there, absent a random tree
falling across the line. It's relatively inexpensive. It works. My EVs go
when I mash the pedal.

Hmmm, why am I typing this? You've already established yourself as both a
kook and a coward. Bored, I guess.

John, still waitin' for you to bring on that sign of yours.

I'm not trying to be abusive here, but I'm having a difficult time
understanding the support of nuclear power. Isn't nuclear waste a super
pollution problem?

Chopping it up, dissolving it inconcenrated acids, reprocesssing it etc is indeed
MESSY.

Use slightly enriched uranium first. Or Thorium.

No, nuclear waste presents a long-solved engineering problem. Unfortunately,
it is presently an unsolved political problem.

Of course, only recently are people willing to notice the waste pollution
problem from coal plants. Statistically speaking, we have numerous deaths every
year (I can't put a number on it, but likely in the tens of thousands) caused by
the pollution from coal plants, and zero from from nuclear plants. I leave the
rest of the math up to you.
