> The ramp down keeps the congress and special interests
I have always found that, those Evil "Special Interests" turned out to
be ANYONE who doesn't think like the person speaking. If you are a
Greenie, then "Special Interests" are the conservative Repubs and their
crowd, and if your a RedNeck, the "Special Interests" are the Greenie's,
Environmental Whaco's, Leftist Commie Pinko's etc. Now the rest of us
plain Folks, we are just the Silent Majority, that are to busy working,
paying our bills, providing food, shelter, and raising our families,
to worry about "Special Interests"......

Agreed on the first part. Re, the second part. Did you take that Earned
Income Tax Credit (sic) this year? How 'bout that "Stimulus payment"? If you
did then you're part of the problem, only on a smaller scale. Both are
working class welfare and both came from money stolen from other folks (at the
rate things are going, the next few generations who'll have to pay off the
federal debt sooner or later.)
I declined them both, though they'd have come in VERY handy. Hard thing to do
but also the right thing to do.

John, I admire your moral stand, but in this case I think it is misplaced.
Do you have any estimate of how many rich folks turned down the tax cuts put in
by our present administration? Those cuts (along with the undiminished
government spending) explain much of our record debt, much of our recent
increased inflation, and therefore much of the economic pain you have been
feeling.
By the way, I am not planning on turning down my "stimulus payment" when it
finally comes. That money was stolen straight from my savings (in the form of
decreased spending power from inflation triggered by the crazy government
spending coupled with tax cuts) so that is where my check will go, straight back
into my savings.

Only in high school, where I learned the ideal version, with Harry Reid
and Nancy Pelosi unbeholden to pharmaceutical interests :-)
In "Sicko," Tony Benn said we need to care more about government and
actually VOTE for what we want, eg national health care, saying European
governments fear the people, vs US people who fear the government. This
points to a need and an opportunity to take back real power, by voting.

In different words:
Before 'government' can give anything to anyone, it must take it from
someone else.
And Neon John is correct about at gunpoint.
Law is a politician's commands, backed by threat of force, up to, and
including, killing you.
And therefore, it is provable that ALL 'government's' are terrorist
organizations.
Oops. I ranted too.
