The Russky RTGs come close. They're nice little packages
loaded with plutonium, which produces heat just this side
of forever. THe heat, in turn, goes into a series
of thermocouples to generate electricity.

They used these in plenty of places, as in "remote
weather stations". All peaceful, of course.

We (the US) might, might, have used a similar unit
for project "Ivy Bellsi", in which one of our submarines
physically attached a wiretap/recorder to a Russky underwater
communications cable.

There's quite a bit of concern that many of these disappeared
folloiwng the breakup of the USSR. While there isn't enough
plutonium in any of them for a BOOM type explosive,
(and the isotope would probably "fizzle" before
going BOOM) they could be used for other nastiness.

ah....

I believe they are building 600 in 2008, and 1600 in 09 & 10.
BTW they are all sold.

Cheers

And if you believe that, I have some oceanfront property here in Tellico that I
need
to sell....

It may be "Electric Assist" but then its battery/storage
requirements and charging requirements would be more
inline with the OP's operating concept.

Luck;

You could get one of those electric bikes, then rig a self-starter and
charger for one of those 1 kW gennies being discussed above. A $30
Basic Stamp would be plenty of computer control for it. A hybrid of
your own making. You could call it a Bikeus or something. It might
suck when it rains or is cold.
