Unless it's a GM, 42v on the electric side of the hybrid?

And engine coolant is engine coolant - why wouldn't someone expect to
have hot coolant scald them if they remove the coolant's container?

Just touching orange cables isn't a problem. Cutting them open is,
though.

And the article doesn't mention how first responders have to deal with
more than just the 12v system in conventional autos. As they mention
with the hybrids, you first have to make sure that the internal
combustion engine is off (but neglect to mention that you have to do
this with conventional autos as well). There's also the explosive
potential of active safety belts and air bags to worry about, too.
And then there's that gasoline...

and the event at this college isn't the first emergency responder
training in hybrids for emergency responders... Toyota and Honda have
been holding training events at the request of emergency responders
for years now...
