Anybody know if the Shureflo is real quiet for a houshold pump?
We have been using the Jabsco Sensor Pump (no pressure tank needed) for
2 years and want a something that does not make as much noise. Any
other pumps? I like not having the pressure tank but could be convinced
to go to one.

Personally I think that Shurflo's basic, low-end water pumps are crap and
very noisy. They make some more expensive ones but they have convinced me
not to buy them.
OTH for my travel trailer I replaced the Shurflo with an Aquajet (ES Series)
made by Aquatec. It is variable speed and WAY quieter. I have not put an
ammeter on it but presumably it uses less current when running at low speed.
Mine is a 12 volt model and I don't know if they come in 24 VDC or not but
they do make 24 VAC pumps. It can be used with or without an accumulator
tank. I use it without.
So, was it worth paying 2 twice as much for a water pump? Yes.

What you should look at is a Stinky Dankoff Pump. They are
avalable at http://www.dankoffsolar.com/ A bit expensive,
but the quality is superb. I have one, that replaced the
Jabsco Diaphram Pump, I used for 20 years. Very good stuff.

No hits on a search for "Stinky" at the Dankoff site. Quite a few for
"Windy" though. ;-) Is this the pump you like?
