Has anyone ever used an 8D battery?

Man, these 12v batteries are HUGE. I saw one at Sam's Club for $00, but it
was only rated in cold cranking amps, which is a foreign language to me.
Wonder what kind of AH these little monsters store? Must be over 250 I would

Depending on the type and quality, could one of these batteries be more bang
for the buck than 2 golf cart batteries? Even if a tad more expensive, you
have the convenience of 1 battery and no hassle of connectors.

I know, 2 golf cart batteries are good in a way. If one dies, you buy one
new one and keep the old one as long as it is in good condition.
Nevertheless, a single huge 12v battery is attractive to me.

Typical 8D batteries are 220amp/hr.  I have used them alot.

Disappointing. Golf cart batteries are 250-265 Ah, right?

Nevertheless, the 8D is a battery to be reckoned with. Just think of a
square of them for $00 and 880 Ah.

For the same price you can put together an array of golf cart
batteries with essentially the same capacity, and a far higher cycle
life.  Plus they are easier to carry.  8*)

Batteries rated in cranking amps are made for high currents and
shallow discharge...

If it is rated in cold cranking amps, I expect it would be an
automotive cranking battery, and not a deep-cycle one; and thus not as
well-suited to PV or wind applications than the golf cart batteries.
