My opinion is that the taxpayers of NY are about to throw away $,000,000.
Vertical axis turbines are nothing new, and there is a reason why the skies
are not dark with them.  Note the first comment after the story.

yeah, i don't want to jump the gun, wanted to wait for more responses, i
feel the same way, it's an investment/grant scam.  i think the taxpayers of
NY already paid out that $,000,000.  it's not that vertical axis turbines
are nothing new or that it's a start up company and their products
might/could increase in sophistication with time, it just seems to me it's a
scam, the company put together the barest minimum  of what a "wind turbine"
could/should be just to get the grant money and then disappeared.  i like
the idea that wind power could/should be encouraged it's just that this
example seems so amateurish.  in another video it's shown turning in the
wind but *without* a electric generator attached.  by that example we don't
really know if it ever generated any power at all, or, if it did how much.
somewhere i read it's rated at 1.5kw.  another place i read it costs
$5,000.  seems that's excessively expensive for what's there.

My opinion.

I love what the state is doing to Nu Yawkers after what their guv
Cuomo did to Shoreham.  That plant would have supplied more clean
power than all the windmills that could ever be placed in the state.
My company designed the radiation monitoring system for that plant so
it is/was dear to my heart.

Was that a nuclear plant? If so, it deserved to be
squashed.
