Wish me luck now, we'll see if they work, what fixing they need
etc. Won then on a military auction.

Thanks. I ordered manuals for both of them (both are made by Onan, one
gas and one diesel). Unfortunately, for the Onan diesel generator I
will only have the manual for the engine itself. Not the electrical
part. For the onan gas generator, I will have the manual for the whole
I guess, generally speaking, I should do the following:
1. Replace oil with fresh oil.
2. Connect DC power.
3. Give the engine a bit of fuel.
3. Try to start the engine.
Do you know whether the DJB diesel generator requires a 12v or a 24v
battery to start? I have a couple of 12v batteries that I can connect
in sequence to get 24V.
My own plan is as follows:
1. If both work fine, sell the gas generator and keep the diesel one,
accoessorize it etc.
2. If some do not work, try to fix them. Then keep the best working
unit if at least oen can work. Sell everything that does not work.
Another question, just how big of a battery do I need to start them
(and operate glow plugs on the diesel generator). Can I get by with
cheap lawn tractor batteries?
Ultimately, I want a setup with a large fuel tank attached (I have a
25 gal tank), batteries, trickle chargers charging batteries from home
110v power, etc.
