Thanks for the kind words. I think he got in touch a few days ago. His
issue was highly variable flow rates and how to design for that. I told
him to check out how the wind power guys deal with variable winds .. like
maybe make AC at the turbine (which wind blue can do) and then rectify, or
check the adjustable field types used in the commercial turbines (harris
etc)
Also told him to come here for advice since although i've made one of these
things you guys gave me so much good advice (with math to back it up) I
figured he'd be better off picking your brains.

When it come to DIY wind turbines OtherPower has some people with lots
of experience, big brains, I've read the posts there for years (good
wind forum) although I rarely post there, my first two posts where
pulled there I E-mailed both times to fine out why, but they never
told me what I was doing wrong.
They have a hydro forum I was hoping you aware of, I can't really tell
how good it is, but alternative energy forums are so rare I read it
anyway.
Have fun.

Just from memory (so I may not be [absolutely] correct)
The Square brackets mean the absolute value of what is contained inside.
(Hint to the pun of the preceding line.)
[-230] = 230
[329] = 329
[-0.2434] = 0.2434

No no,,,, I got that backwards, line brackets are absolute values. The
square brackets are used for functions... Round brackets are used for non
functions.
That is what I get for typing a response at 1:46 in the morning. My brain is
half asleep.

So:
(34,000/1.9)[1 - (1/2)(101.8/132)^2] = 12,578 and NOT 10,994
and
(34,000/1.85)[1 - (1/2)(69.3/132)^2] = 15,845
2:36 and I'm still at it too.
Get sleep that's what I'm going to do. zzzzzzzzz
