...there was a scientist on the box here (UK) saying that children
born today will have the option to live a thousand years with the
technology now being developed. All disease will be eradicated. All
body parts will be replaced. New bodies will be fabricated.
We will have all this free on the NHS in the UK. You Yanks will have
to pay for it of course (unless Obama has his way)
Hands up who wants to live a thousand years!

I've heard a couple of credible sources say things to the effect
that people will live very long lives once the aging process can
But they've all said it's far enough in the future that most
adults (i.e. you and I...) will just miss it.

Claims that technology can eradicate disease
is bogus. The brain cannot be replaced without
killing the person - it is unlikely that a memory
backup can be made of the brain in the near
or far future.

I'd want to live a thousand years. But you know it'll only be the fatcats
who get access.. even in the UK
