Not much new here 25 year payoff. $1300 more to buy and install a
tankless. They do Television next month......

Ehhh...I've never agreed with CR on a single thing, so I won't
be too troubled about this "finding".

Oh, really?
Then you must prefer products that perform poorly, are unreliable, are
overpriced, and are unsafe.
Consumers Union does careful testing of products, and they are very good at
it. They are unbiased and do not accept advertising.

And I (for one) am a subscriber and a bit of a fan of CU, but I still don't
agree with all of their conclusions and have not had universal good luck with
their recommended products.

It certainly seems that CU is doing scientific testing, but whenever
they test something that I have detailed knowledge about (admitedly
rare) they come to conclusions that I find questionable or absurd.
