I rode in a VW Beetle (old style) that was converted to electric. This
was 25 years ago. It had 2 electric industrial mule motors in the back-
in place of the engine.Plenty of pick-up and speed (about 45 mph for
city driving) It was converted by an electrical engineering prof at
Michigan State Univ. in E. Lansing. Can't remember his name.
