Today I saw my first full size electric car. (It was a Peugot I
think) Looked exactly like the regular petrol car. However it was
in fact noisier than the petrol version though not as noisy as the
diesel. (Diesel cars are very common in the UK, more diesels than
petrol I think.)
The noise was due to the inverter whining away.
Apparently an electric version is 20,000 as against the petrol one
Now 10,000 buys a lot of petrol. How long does the battery last & how
much does a replacement cost is the first thing strikes me!
And then how long does it take to charge the battery?
You don't pay any annual road tax in the UK on electric cars either,
There's lots of very small electric cars in London, they don't have to
pay the congestion tax (around 5/day I think)
