What do you mean by 'heat gain' ? They obey the law of conservation of
energy.
To take the simple light bulb as one example, in a closed room, the
electricity heats a filament to white heat giving out light plus some
warmth. When the light hits a non-reflective object, it too turns to
heat so all the energy ends up as heat.
