well Well
I got myself some car batteries and a 1kw inverter
If I had to buy these items i think £200 + in England
so after reading this news group I thought yes we could
save some money puting all this together
and it worked fine
but on fluorescent lights wouldnt start and kept trying to start
the PC wouldnt run either
A 42 inch plasma 390W wouldnt run either
or a Hoover (1kw) that I would expect
All high start current devices
so I thought run energy saving bulbs
did this
After Calculating the energy cost gains
this equaled £16.80p per annum
and a consumption of 7.5 amps @ 12v
ie we need a windmill ... cost ?
In other words a waste of time
and yes I could easily design the management system
so what could I really do ?
the answer was easy
with a current meter on conventional mains I measured everything
and found many devices ie washing machine, microwave computer etc
all consuming power switched off ...... only small amounts but
over a year it all adds up
example a microwave plugged in but switched off consumed 12w
over 1 year 102.120 KW muliply this by all the home devices and you have
the global warming a wasted energy
the culprit in this case was a mains filter placed before the device power
switch
so the moral is go see and find out
another energy saver is this ...
A fridge or freezer costs money to run it works by removing heat to a
radiator
at the back, the more effiecient we make this radiater the less the motor
runs
and costs fall so with a 2ft by 4ft peice of aluminium sheeting tied in
contact
to the back the motor on time was halved and so was the cost
and dont forget to earn the money to pay energy bills is + taxes + time +
effort
ie + 40 % ?
