I do, of course, set the choke on full, but my EU2000 still takes 10
or more pulls on the rope to start after it has been ran out of gas
and stored for about 3 months. Some engines have a little bulb you can
press on and pump the gas in. That's a nice feature, but the EU2000
doesn't have one.

Perhaps the gas feed hose needs replacing or flushing? Possible leak
in the carburetor chain (crack) so it doesn't draw enough?

you can open the release valve on the bottom of the carb (with a flathead
screwdriver) and if gas doesn't immediatly start running out the line,
you can (in a pinch) form a seal on the gas tank (where you pour in the
gas) with your mouth and give a little puff to force the gas through the
lines and get rid of a vapour lock or whatnot that might be causing the
gas blockage. That should prime things up pretty good in any case.
Then close the valve, turn on the choke and give her a yank.. it should
start

Another option; turn on the gas valve and wait 5 min for the gas to fill
the carb and flush out the air lock.

I tried this and waited 20 minutes and gave it 2 very soft pulls and
it didn't start up. Then I left it overnight and gave it 2 very slow,
soft pulls AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP!!! This is after I ran it out of gas
and stored it for 3 or 4 months.
Thanks Nick for the great idea. This solves my problem.
