And I admit to a profound lack of knowledge regarding YOUR genhead, but my
Onan CCK has two sets of both AC and DC brushes. Just one of those jamming a
little in the holder could cause the symptom you mention. Also, at first
glance, it looks almost impossible to access the brushes, but it is surprisingly
easy.
I'll bet there is a guy in Alaska who can tell us a few specifics about
your genhead.

Brish jamming definitely could account for this. I hope that the
problem is as easy as a brush jamming. I am somewhat doubtful that the
alternator really has brushes on it.

The problem you have is common with Trace /Xantrex invert/charge
systems off grid.
The lights do flicker at certain times usually during the bulk phase at
certain loads and phases of the moon..... Get use to it or get over it
and worry more about lightning season which is just down the road.
Your UPS consists of ?

DJB/E have no brushes....they use a Brushless generator.....It is a

Then (drawing on my limited knowledge of this subject) it must either be a
PM generator or a squirrel cage-type head. How do you regulate those types of
heads? Do you agree with Ig that the regulator is a probable source of the
problem?
