Have had a new Grundfos SQE pump installed. The existing pressure
tank is still in use. It is 60 gallons. CU301 is set to 60.
Installer said he calibrated the tank. Anyone know what that meant?
Don't recall him changing the pressure in the tank.
Looking for info as I'd like to use the lower PSI settings to save
electricity when the power is out and I am powering it with a
generator.
Thanks!

The air precharge should be set at 70% of the CU301's setting.

It may have been close enough already. If your previous setup was a
conventional one, then its tank precharge should have been about 2 psi
less than cut-in pressure. So if your old pressure switch was set for
45-65 (higher than most), the original precharge of 42 would still be
correct for the CU301's setting of 60 now.

Manual here, see pg.8 for tank precharge settings

Don't forget to exhaust the water line pressure before adjusting the
tank precharge.

Thanks, Wayne. Yes, this was a conventional setup and I believe the
settings were 45-65. I'll drain the tank and test the bladder to see
what it is set at.
