The worst power crisis in history of Pakistan. There is no power for 15 to
18 hrs of the day. The criminal Govt. is not doing enough to resolve the
crisis. Iran is offereing cheap electricity but the criminal Govt. in US
does not want it to make a deal with Iran.

Greetings, Sicilian Dragon...

This is a place where we discuss production, conservation, and wise use
of energy, including electricity. If you are interested in participating
in such discussions, then welcome.

If you wish to express displeasure to governments, that wish would be
better served by addressing those governments directly (and calmly). For
the US, you can go to http://www.whitehouse.gov  and click on "Contact"
at the bottom of the page. That link will take you to a page where you
can speak your thoughts. I'm sorry, but I don't know how to contact the
governments of either Pakistan or Iran.

Your headers indicate that you might be in Lahore - please correct me if
that's not your location, and provide some information about local
energy resources: sun, wind, hydro (I noticed the Ravi north and west of
Lahore).

I would be more comfortable speaking to a person with a real name, but
if you are really more comfortable as Sicilian Dragon, so be it.

My location can be found on a map by following the link below and then
clicking "Find us on the map".

I would second Morris's thoughts.... You live in mountainous terrain and
Hydro and Micro-Hydro should be available to you, on a village by
village basis, with what you folks can build yourselves in your back
room shops. If you can turn out AK-47s and such, you surely can make
some simple Pelton Wheels and wind a few genends to run on them....
Quite blaming others and get up off your own butt and do something
constructive...

If you have internet access, you can Google and Wiki for whatever
information you require, to design and build your own Power, from
sources close to you... This isn't Rocket Science, and anyone who can
post to newsgroups, is smart enough to engineer a power producing
Micro-Hydro system on a local stream....

So how about it....

It's a problem that does require effort (a _lot_ of effort for a city as
big as Lahore). People here are generally willing to help with learning
the basics and acquiring constructive perspectives that will help you to
design your own solution. I would guess that the problem is solvable,
and that with the cooperation of local citizens, the city government,
and (perhaps) some help from the government of Pakistan, you (meaning
the people of Lahore) can work out and implement a solution such that
you don't need to buy power from anyone except yourselves.

I agree. Your command of English appears excellent, and there are people
on this forum who may be able to provide helpful links to specific
information you might need - but you will need to ask the questions to
see the answers. :)
