U am at a loss to explain why my home generator, it used to work fine
but now the engine runs fine and the voltmeter shows 110 volts but
the outlet does not provide anything. I think that the problem is the
GFI outlet but I had it replaced twice.
Does anyone have a answer ? I am plugging a 3 wire cable into the
generator to supply furnace and a freezer, the generator is rated at
3.2 kW and is diesel powered. I would appreciate any help.
 And thanks

Look for a loose wire on the back of the GFCI. After replacing it it may not
have been tightened down properly. Are you sure the GFCI recepticals were
defective? Maybe a feed wire to the unit made three recepticals look
defective.
