Honda to exhibit 'home energy station' - 30th August 2006

Japanese car manufacturer Honda is to showcase its new 'Home Energy
Station' at the Paris Motor Show as a complement to its latest fuel
cell concept car - the FCX.

The home energy station, which will be displayed alongside the FCX at
the September show, demonstrates how fuel cell cars might be powered as
part of a complete energy system also capable of providing heating and
electricity in the home.

A hydrogen supply for the car can be extracted from a domestic gas
supply using the system, which will also use its own fuel cells to
deliver household power, providing an emission-free power source for
all requirements.

The exhibit forms part of Honda's 'Advanced Technology Zone' at the
motor show, as it attempts to further its reputation as one of the
leading developers of cleaner vehicle technology in the car mass
market.

The new FCX is an attempt to demonstrate that fuel cell cars can be
stylish as well as environmentally friendly, while hybrid models of the
Honda Civic are also to be on display, designed with cutaways to
demonstrate the internal workings of the power system.
