I am looking for the lightest (smallest) 240 VAC, 60 Hz generator
available. I only need 2 kW max power, but the smallest 240 Vac
generators that I have found start at about 3.5 kW.
I am looking for something lighter as we need to pack it into remote
locations.
Thanks.

They are manufactured:

It's just a matter of finding one you can buy :-(

By "pack it" do you mean carry it for miles up and down hills and such?

It is usually only 200 to 300 feet (but up to 1500 feet), but
sometimes it is in snow, and often alone.

These are typically radio repeaer sites. All have fixed generators and
battery backup, but power outages are often due to storms/snow/ice and
if the main generator fails, we only have about 12 hours of battery so
need to get a portable generator to site.

If we are talking about a limited number of sites, then you could afford
to mount an inexpensive transformer at each of them, which would allow you
the freedom to take any appropriate generator to the site.  Otherwise, you
probably need to be looking at generators aimed at the 60 Hz, 240 volt
portion of the European market.
