Hi sunshine.:-)

Although cheap PV may be a bit off, I belive that it will be more
affordable pretty soon.

Contains cadmium, therefore can't be sold in any country or state with RoHS
legislation unless exemptions are granted. LOL !

The current EU cadmium directive applies only to metallic cadmium, so
CdTe is exempt. PV modules are also currently exempt from ROHS, though
that may change in the future. If they are ever included, PV
manufacturers can still apply for an exemption on the grounds that using
the cadmium has a positive environmental, health, and/or safety impact.
Considering the volume of data suggesting that CdTe is highly stable and
not impactful of health, I suspect that such a petition would succeed on
grounds of positive environmental impact. One can even argue that
putting cadmium into a relatively stable and benign state in CdTe is
better than having to dispose of it -- and since it's a by-product of
zinc refining, it must either be used or disposed of, unless you're
going to ban zinc mining too.
