What's the best windmill style. Anybody building their own?
I was gonna try a cylindrical style with bicycles wheels to run an
alternator to charge a bunch of car batteries. Then use an inverter to
run my pellet stove, tv and a few odds and ends.

Your statement is 1/2 true. ALL AC generators run at about the same rate
1800 - 3600RPM. However if you increase its power by 2-3X, then you can
reduce its RPM by 3X. Like I did and I sold them on eBay. You rednecks
assumed thing wrongly and called me a scammer when you don't know shit
about my theory.
With car alternators you need to have a good controller to avoid fielding
the generator when there's no wind. My items include a controller, it
helps the wind turn the generator on start-up and it helps reduce power
consumption on the rotor. This theory is better and stronger than your
shitty PM generator.

Really???
Grand coulee dam doesn't.
"On the left- and right powerhouse generators 120 rpm results in 60Hz AC power"
That's a pretty significant AC generator.

More problems with reality?

If they didn't use 15:1 gear ratio then they must have used a specific coil
winding technique.
