National Public Radio has now had two radio programs that have explained
what has/is happening concerning the economy....these are the best
explanations I have seen/heard.....here are links to the two programs in
mp3 format...

Housing Crisis
Program #335: Giant Pool of Money

Bailout Plan and Why
Program #365: How Bad Are Things

It is not the government that is broke and not working....it is the
politicians not doing the jobs they were hired to do....

Replace the word government in your reading/writing/speaking vocabulary
with the word politicians...and you will see the world as it really is....

example: it is not the government that collects and spends taxes...it is
the politicians.....

It may be OT, but when we all go back to heating with wood, it'll at
least tell us why we are having to resort to it.

I have to agree with you.  I downloaded the pdf of the first program
and was surprised how simply it was explained.

Thanks for the link to audio of the next program, our local station
kept cutting out during the broadcast of it.  One of the few times I
have ever felt like banging on the radio and complaining.

IMO, these should have been required listening for every
congresscritter before voting on the bailout bill.  There is no
question that government policies and laws (or lack thereof) were the
root cause of the rot, and the business community was too focused on
money to even care what the long term effects of their actions would
