But it won't do anything for top posting.

I'll second that.  I used it when I was still on OE and found it worked
well.

Since moving to W7, and it doesn't come with OE or Windows Mail, I went
out and got Thunderbird, which works well for me (it understands
'threads' and all, like a news-reader should).

Thanx. Proper posting using top posting threading doesn't require anything
for clarity.

Excellent example for my post, though.

Ya gotta' love Usenet and most forums, for that matter.
People spend more time, forum space and bandwidth, themselves,
bitching about the wasted time, forum space, and bandwidth from
others...LOL

Well, I'm kind of glad there was a post, at least nothing is wrong
with my news reader.

It would be nice if someone could point to the RFC outlining the
protocol use of "OT", I always thought it was a "Fig Leaf" too (good
analogy Vaughn).

As for me, I'm not troubled as long it is not a for profit, it's by
someone who contributes on-topic to the group, and they participate in
the thread they start.

But it does seem only fair that people should have as much right to
their off-topic opinions of an off-topic post, as the off-topic author
has. But that's just me.

I think the US billion has taken over.  It has here in the UK. Our
billion used to be   1,000,000,000,000. ie a million million.  101=

Yes the US culture has tainted, even  Canukistan, with their counting system
and illiterate bad spelling habits and serious counting limitations. Most of
Europe hasn't bit for the lazy side of things, but then the UK isn't part of
Europe, either.  They are going to destroy your "pint", next. I can see it
coming so keep your refrigerator locked or the beer will end up taking all
the room.

Even their bottom posting style has some of us converted.
