Many people can count -
but only a few people do anything that truly counts.

LOL. Yes -- Time is money -- as the old saying goes!
However, in a capitalistic society
a Billionaires' time is worth more than a pauper's
time.
So 12 trillion dollar is not that much when
it is compressed into Wall Street's Billionaire's money-to-
time-space-singularity.

Correction

Science is a methodology
which looks to understand data by using
theory/law/hypothesis
but it is *good* data that really reigns supreme -
the data is never assumed.
a clean scientific data is always true.
Sir Issac Newton might say it like this -
Unlike Man, Nature obeys its own laws.
In theory, humans should be smarter than a cockroach
- but there are always exceptions. (9_9)
Science provides a framework whereby
careful inquiry can lead to an expanded knowledge base.
which is improvement
over guessing or assuming something is true.
Note:
Mathematics/Logic is the discipline of choice (not Science) for
those who seek to prove something.
For those that want to avoid assuming the truth, there is Fuzzy
Logic/mathematics,
where rather than assumed there are thing that are true - the truth
lies in a gray area between true and false.

A "billion" is not used for most scientific purposes.
The US defines it as a thousand million.
The UK defines it as a million million.
It use is restricted to financial activities and even then it's often
expanded to make the meaning clear.
Using the term is an invitation to misuse and confusion.

I agree....should have made a note that it applied to US only....
no excuse...

Correct Scientific Terminology:
Hypothesis - a guess as to why or how something occurs
Theory - a hypothesis that has been checked by enough experiments
to be generally assumed to be true.
Law - a hypothesis that has been checked by enough experiments
in enough different ways that it is assumed to be truer then a theory.
Note: nothing is proven in science, things are assumed to be true.
