Hi all, I am thinking of buying the ExelTech 1100xp, but before I
layout the
$748us for one thought I'd ask. Checking past mssgs it seems to be a
good piece of kit.

In fact "$" is shorthand for "US" (initially written superimposed)
meaning "US dollar". You're redundant, then.
OTOH, some later users of "dollar" for their unit of currency will need
to have it identified, since theirs is a non-standard use of a
long-term standard. (E.g. $(Aus).)

He is polite. It needs to be identified the same as the
weird US measurement units.
$ is the symbol for most country's dollar and also
Mexico's peso and nuevo peso.
Even the number counting system is modified by the US
and needs to be specified.

Huh? Clearly $ is shorthand for "Canadian Dollar".
I expect Americans to assume that they're the be-all and end-all of this
planet, but complaining that US$ is redundant when posting to an
international newsgroup is just plain arrogant.

Most of the Knowledgable Folks use the $x.xxUS when posting...it
clarifies the monitary unit of exchange.....
