I have a wood burning stove and I would like to buy a pellet fuel basket
made by Energex that can convert a wood burning stove to burn wood pellets
instead. This insert is essentially a wire mesh cage made of stainless
steel that can be put inside a wood burning stove and filled with wood
pellets.
Does anyone have any experience with this product or similar product or any
recommendations.
Thanks,
Bill

No experience with that product. Several years with pellet and wood
stoves. Product sounds like a BAD idea. Pellets simply do not burn
well without forced combustion. Ever try presto logs WITHOUT paraffin
or other binder? Pellets are even more dense and require more air to
burn.

Agreed ,though more into wood boilers than wood stoves.....better heat
distribution with the steam.Also
prefer chips over pellets.

According the their website http://www.energex.com/energex_products.htm
the unit has dividers for added air flow which allows the pellets to
burn.

I'm sure they burn. I'm pretty sure they don't burn _well_ (as I
originally stated).
