I am looking at replacing a single hung window in the bath.
I would like to make it so I could remote control it because
it is hard to reach it. I was also planning on mounting a fan
on the outside to cover the entire opening. This window is one of the
few in my home that is desirable to be open during the
right tempurature/humidity conditions. I wish to do this
so when we are to old to manually open or close this window,
we won't brake our necks or anything else.
I have searched at length and found only one solution, but,it
is not mfg in the USA. Plus the voltage requirements are wrong.
Has any body built anything like this?
I am thinking rack and pinion, limit switches and the like.
Any thoughts or comments welcomed. Also I am willing and
able to build . maybe start a mock up to develop a working unit.

Maybe you could find a commercial/institutional latch with a ring on
it that you operate with a pole. I remember them from the tall windows
at school.

Me too, but nowadays (at my local school) those windows have a crank on
the wall and a Bowden cable sort of arrangement to operate the window.

This is neat.. http://www.robotshop.us/add-a-motor-umbrella-motor.html
Which style window, This Sintesi is not for a hung window but sounds
like you may need to pick a window that will work with a controller.
