Nuclear is NOT moving on. Great savings can be had by introducing highly
efficient domestic appliances, have all homes passive solar, superinsulated,
better town planning so people don't need cars, PV cells are improving and
large scale manufacture will drops prices - the same with batteries for
homes and cars. Then there is microCHP (cogen). All technology that is
clean, easy to handle and here right now. Air can be cleaned further by
planting forests, etc.
We don't need or want nuclear or coal to generate electricity, as it is just
not necessary. Any government can sit down and pass some laws/regulations
quite quickly, and in five years time matters will be greatly improved all
around.

We can't afford not to use nuclear and coal. Already people whine about the
price of electricity and blackouts. What happens when the wind stops blowing
and the sun doesn't shine and you already pay over $1 per kWh?

WQe don't have them, and brownouts, where I live. Read whjat I wrot and
"understand" it::

Solar and wind work. You store energy, and have backup NG generators.

We don't want all that battery waste in our part of the land.
Coal and oil can be made clean in large quantities but the US is too cheap
and inconsiderate to do it. Nuclear is much cleaner and less people die
installing it.
Read what I wrote and answer the question.

New batteries are made of plastic - polymer.

Nuclear is cleaner? You don't really know do you.
