I hate it when that happens.

It's kinda interesting.
In the US products and practices are safe until proven to be unsafe.
In Europe products and practices are safe when proven to do no harm.
The Russians most likely have a blend of the 2, I don't really know.
In China everything goes safe or unsafe.
The Large expensive collider is in Europe.
So we cant claim it to be perfectly safe by assertion.
Then again it does blow up the whole planet so we could opt to debunk
it American style.
You know? Like cold fusion, solar, wind energy etc?
lol

Depends on what you mean by safe.
Are motor cars safe.
Millions of people each year get killed by car accidents.
Hasnt got anyone to ban cars though.
Are atomic bombs safe.
Hasnt stopped cetrain western countries making them.
Basicaly , nothing is perfectly safe.

Yes, but the problem goes far deeper than that! How can you prove (really
prove) that this massive machine will not send some sort of vibrations out into
the cosmos that might attract some technologically superior, but warlike, race
of space/time travelers to our galaxy who will proceed to wipe out the human
race with one push of a button?
You see? You can't really prove that collider is safe, can you?

True enough.
