Call me cynical but your posting and the linked site seem nothing more
than a desire to get a few hits to gain a bit of advert revenue.
Maybe that wasn't the intention but it's certainly the impression I
got.

Hi Cynical. Interesting. I've never had anyone tell me they got that
impression before. Most are grateful for the information we post on
what we have learned living off-grid and learning to be self
sufficient. We really aren't too concerned about what folks think. We
just post what we learn over the years so others can learn what to do,
how to do it, and sometimes, what not to do. We are more interested in
helping people than getting hit revenue. But it helps keep the website
alive so people can read about our experiences.

You said in your original posting "Check out the design"
BUT it was *just* a shopping list.
As others have said there is no "design"
Other than mention of the type of loads there is no indication of
their power consumption and duty, there is no indication of the
insolation expected at the installation location, there is nothing
that even hints of innovation. Basically a solar cell, a charge
controller, a battery and a bit of wire. It didn't need a five page
'homepower' type article with cheesy photographs of someone in a
lumberjack shirt to tell us that, but 230 words of wishy washy spin
and a list of bits is hardly worth mentioning in the specialist groups
it was aimed at. If the page had been free of ads, and you were a
"first timer" I might have been slightly less cynical.
In summary:
A shopping list? yes.
A design? no, not really.

You aren't related to George, are you. You make as much sense as he
does.
The actual loads and times run have been provided to those who have
asked in
the spirit of searching for knowledge. Self proclaimed experts can
take the
list of loads, do their own research, and come up with the numbers
themselves. They claim to be able to do that, and asking for more info
is
just looking for a fight. The goal was to stay below 40 ah daily. We
did
that. Success, and happy off-gridder. End of story.
