Hi all, I asked this on alt.home.repair but they suggested bringing the
question over here instead.
So....
Looking to install a wood burning add-on furnace to my electric heat.
Really would like one with the maximum overnight lasting time, so that
it might still be hot coals in the morning or when I get home after
work, but I find it difficult to find these specs.
Anyone know of reports or such info. Couldn't find them on consumer
reports, though I am not familiar with that place very much.
Thanks for any help,
Dean

Hi, Dean.
Didja DAGS? Got 1250 hits on wood-burning add-on furnace.
Next I'd suggest you contact local suppliers/contractors who can
eyeball what you've got & what might be possible with it. And comply
with wishes of fire marshal and insuror, etc.

What's DAGS?
Want to go wood than corn, as I am into the wood stuff, dunno why. Like
a nice open fire in the living room too!

If you can find one that is also moble home approved it will be built to
a higher safety standard. If you live in an area corn is grown, a corn
burning furnace might be an option - for the price of simply paying your
fuel bill ahead you'd have a huge food stockpile that could help you
through a major crisis like nuclear terrorism, and the stockpile would
get rotated without having to eat it. Corn would be real cheap if bought
in bulk in your area, could wait until corn prices hit a low, then
stocked up.
