Thinking about Morris’s advise I ran a TMY2 report and kicked out
these potential places, the only real surprises where Goodland,
Boston, & Billings although Boston’s out the running. The Goodland &
Billings surprise is enough to make me setup a TMY3 run to see if
there’s anything else I’m missing? I’ll run that tonight.
At least at the end of the day, I’ll have town names to find local
news-papers.

Ran TMY3, and numbers are really pointing to that corridor between NE
& SD, now to run FIPS data for their counties, the cities within those
counties, than give that list a spider to what local papers it will
turn-up on the web.

Just got the following "post" form AT&T:
"Please note that on or around July 15, 2009, AT&T will no longer be
offering access to the Usenet netnews service. If you wish to
continue
reading Usenet newsgroups, access is available through third-party
vendors.
Posted only internally to AT&T Usenet Servers."
Apparently one of the ways they're getting their customers for pay for
AT&T's recent acquisition of Bellsouth is charging the same money for
less service by dropping newsgroups. Their "less (for us) is more"
(for AT&T) business model will get me to drop their service.
I'll try to get out here again when I get moved and situated, Thanks
for all your help!

Yeah, funny how all of usenet seems to be 'internal' to AT&T. Or they've
let their servers go spread it all over.
TimeWarner did this a few months back. The big ISP's are scared they might
actually promote the sharing of ideas and social networking without facebook
or something.

I got that post from "this" group alt.energy.homepower and since
no-one else can see the post, it means AT&T is not propagating their
"cutting of services, while not cutting cost of services" (price
increase) to other servers. Also, they done it such a way as to not
let customers know who aren't using newsgroups right now, of the cut
in service (or price increase), all while keeping any complaints
posted this message on their servers (bit-bucket) which they'll
un-plug in a month.
Wonder how much of their customer's money AT&T spent figuring out the
best way to screw their customers out of more money?
Sorry about the rant, I'm just so tried of paying more and more to get
less and less.
