I have a home business and I use about 2500 KWH per month on 3 different =
meters.
2 of them are the peak type ( I believe) which are for commercial use.  =
My yearly electric is about $5,000.

I was trying to size a wind turbine system when I came across the =
Whisper 175. The seller claims 2160 KWH per month at 28 mph wind.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=294&item=30942=
99858&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
"3000 WATT 24 VOLT WHISPER H175 WIND TURBINE GENERATOR (NEW-IN-THE-BOX) =
CAN PRODUCE UP TO 2,160,000 WATT HOURS PER MONTH (2160 KWH) AT A 28 MPH =
WIND VELOCITY. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO 120 SOLAR PV 100 WATT PANELS IN 6 =
HOURS OF SUN DAILY PER MONTH."

But the manufactures website says it is rated at 500 KWH @ 12 mph.
http://www.windenergy.com/SUPPORT/download3/sp_wh175.pdf

I was wondering if the 2160 KWH is realistic for long term use.  I live =
on a hill and have almost continuous winds. But I have not measured them =
yet.  I assume I will lose some power with invertors and I expect to pay =
another $5K for batteries, installation, etc...

So for a $10,000 investment it would pay for its self in 2 years.  But =
this does not sound realistic.
What am I missing here?

Thanks
Pal

NO !!

There is NO way are you going to get 2.5 megawatts every month ... =
usually the manufactures rating are optimistic !!
