You can see the prices of new ones here

I haven't checked pipe prices lately, guessing that 2" galvanized
might be about $4 per foot.

It's about 450', but it's only cased to 225' (rock shard slipped out
before casing), so the pump is set at 225'.

The shallowest I've measured it is about 80'. I think it got down to
about 125' a few years back after a sustained drought . It's less than
100' again now. Add another 100 up to the water tank, plus an
additional 100 if we draw it down.
We use a 1/2hp 5 gpm on 1" sch.80 PVC along with #12 wire (back when
it didn't cost so much). Here are some prices and curves.

The solar alternative for our depth is about $2k, and can be hung on
better-quality polypipe to about 300' head. Curves here
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/wind-sun/SQFlex.pdf (6 or 11 SQF-2). PV
prices are as little as $2.50 a watt http://sunelec.com/ (for anyone
needing dedicated power).
There are many other solar pumps, and some are a lot cheaper,
especially for shallower depths. The SQ Flex is really popular though
because it's efficient, maintenance free (compared to some others),
covers a lot of depths, and can be powered with a range of voltages AC
or DC. Very slick.
