Aren't those places run by governments that essentially confiscate, or "tax"
if you will, whatever they want from their citizens?
We (the US) have the second highest corporate tax* in the world. I think we
can do a little better than that without Mel Gibson showing up in the last
of the V-8 Interceptors.

corporations do.

Higher taxes will make us more easily controlled, if that's your idea
of civilization and you dream of joining the power elite.
I don't understand the delusion that suppressing carbon fuel won't
drive our lifestyles back toward the 1800's. Or is that the secret
goal?

Production has already peaked.. ~74-75 MBPD.. we're in the plateau
/backend decline phase. (

Right now, the oil industry is anticipating that demand to catchup to
remaining supply, or that production will decline as reserves are
depleted.
Why do you think the FF industry is attempting to store every last bit
of oil they can get their hands on??

Ha Ha Ha. I've been hearing this nonsense for too long to take it seriously.
Even if its true there would still be millions of barels burried in Suadi
Arabia and Iraq.
