Actually if a person really knew what Luddites were really all about the
place should be packed. Luddites got a bad rap,
what they were protesting was not the machines, but the drastic change
to their lifestyle. Most worked from home, much like
webmasters do today, had a garden plot, some chickens etc..and were
basically self sufficient. I'd be pissed too if I had to go
from working 4-5 hours a day to be locked in a factory 14 hours a day
for less money than when I was self employed.;~)

Modern or past? There are stories of wooden shoes (Sabots) being thrown
into machinery, but I don't think the
Luddites wore clogs.
