Looking for a portable unit containing an AGM battery, a charge controller,
and a lighter plug cord, to keep a Koolatron thermoelectric frig going.
I see Xantrex has a 20 ah hour unit.
Any suggestions? Looking for the most AH, easily replaceable battery, and no
additional features.

Xantrex 400 plus, hands down. Or go with a larger one. Xantrex, hands
down.

Almost bought. But it's missing one crucial feature. While the inverter has
a low-bat cutoff, the 12V direct does not. Since the main purpose is to
power an unattended 12V Peltier frig, the battery would be completely
depleted and destroyed. Koolatron does make a low-bat cutoff device, but
it's fixed at 11.5 volts, which allows only half the battery capacity to be
used.

I don't think that's true, I wouldn't want to draw a battery down much
below 11.5V. It'll also depend on the battery type, a couple of
cycles to 11.7V will pretty much toast a car battery.

An AGM will give decent cycles to 80% discharge. This is a small battery, so
it can be tossed after 100 cycles or so.
