No, the Fairbanks/Morse 45B is a single cyl vertical, water cooled, 1200
Rpm, diesel that turns a 3600 rpm, 3Kw Genset, via a 3:1 sheive/belt
drive system. Looks a lot like a vertical Witte of the same vintage.
A picture of it can be found on the smokstak.com site, or by emailing me.

"A detroit 2-71 (12kw)for $2k or so, or a listeroid (6k) for $1k or so
would be ideal. "
Are these units availble to run on Propane?
Diesel is not an option at our location.
What are your recommendations for Propane powered units?

I don't know of any diesels that run on propane. At least, not exclusively.

You will have to go with a spark-ignition engine. Preferably, an 1800 RPM
unit.

A handheld digital clamp on amp meter with peak lock function is all
that is needed, Im not familiar with a recording unit for computer, but
they are sold.
