Does anyone know where, in the UK, I can buy a machine which will let
me make paper logs for the fireplace?
We used to have one when I was a child, we'd shred up paper and soak
it in water in a separate bin, then put the paper mache into a machine
and using a foot lever would compress it into the shape of bricks
which we used in the fire.

Quick way is to lay 1/2 inch o newspapers flay. Using a straightened
coat hanger at the edge with the two end past the end of the paper. Roll
them up and bend the wire ends to keep the log in shape and burn away.
Wire will last about a year worth of burning.
