Hi all,
I'd like to do a wind speed study at my house to help make an informed
decision on a wind turbine. I don't even know where to start, but I see
that an anemometer is the device that will help me get data for this. I
found some different models on the internet, but I am a complete beginner
and I don't know what features are good or not really needed.
Can anyone give a quick review on what features to look for on an anemometer
and if possible, recommend a reasonably priced make/model that will do the
job for me? Obviously price is a major consideration (I don't want to spend
thousands, or even hundreds of dollars on this), but also ease of
installation and provides good useful data and a good computer interface.
Thanks much in advance.

Probably meant to give
http://home.alphalink.com.au/~derekw/anemometer_diy/specs.htm
as an introductory site.
Nice one.

Nice one.
I appreciate those responses, and I normally am a cheap DIY type of person,
but I don't really want to mess with making one. I'd like to just buy a
commerically produced one, hopefully that's accurate and with a good PC
interface so that statistics can be tracked. Any suggestions? Thanks,
Joe
