I am preparing to install a Bergey XL 1 wind gennie on a NRG 42 foot tower
supplied by Bergey. My site is mostly rock and the provided dirt screw
anchors will not work. NRG states that they have the appropriate sleeve
type anchor but cannot sell them to me for that tower because it is not
designed for a Bergey wind gennie (although it is rated stronger than any
other anchor). Bergey will not sell me the anchors either because they "do
not know what kinda rock I have". So I am left trying to find my own rock
anchor system. Local companies suggest using a epoxy supported threaded
rod in a drilled hole connected to a large eyebolt for the guy wires, or a
wedge anchor that is fairly small and also connected to a eyebolt. Does
anyone have any expererience putting towers and guys wires in rock? Any
suggestions are appreciated.

Epoxy type threaded rod solutions are superb if done correctly. It is
certainly more than just threaded rod in epoxy. Ramset www.ramset.com make
epoxy type anchors in glass capsules, and suggest you contact them for an
engineered solution. We will often use Ramset epoxy solutions in rock in
preference to poured concrete foundations. To date I have not heard of
wedge anchors being an engineered solution.

The ones I have installed were with an 90lb air hammer. Drilled into the
rock 4 feet then installed the anchor.

there are some on this site that are similar to what I have installed. I
suggest to you that the epoxy may not be strong enough. I have used the
epoxies for framed installations, never a tower.
Check with your local electric utility and see what they use in the area.
