I've always liked Alice in Wonderland, wherein is found:
'When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean -- neither
more nor less.'
and:
`When I make a word do a lot of work like that, I always pay it extra.'

I just let the sun evaporate the water that has fallen and then
it comes back as rain and re-fills the reservoir for the next time.
No pumps to break or oil.
