Where can I buy an electric car with a REMOVABLE battery pack and a
set of pv panels, charge controller, etc. for my home's roof (about
1000 watts)- to charge the battery pack? Does anyone sell such a
package or put together one?:
the whole packagel must have a GOOD WARRANTY !!!
I would probably buy an extra battery pack so I could charge one pack
while out driving the car during the day. That way, when I return
home, I simply switch packs from car to pv's and visa versa. I will
fabricate my own wheeled dolly and winch to lift the packs.

No. Nor likely to EVER. 1000 watts won't get you very far btw unless you
mean an electric bicycle.

Quiite right about the panel size, you would need ten times that size
at least & even then it would take forever to charge. You almost
never get the full output from a PV panel unless you live in a very
sunny clime and it's midday
Also it gets dark just about everywhere I know of!
We had fork truck at one time with changeable battery packs. They were
on a plug with a short flexible lead. The truck could unload it's own
battery using the forks. Which wieghed 1/4 of a ton. Are you feeling
strong or got a good hoist?

The Prius battery charger is 10amps. amps times volts= watts. 10
amps times 120v= 1200 watts. I thought the Prius gets at least 30miles
on an 8 hour charge. You can get 8 hours of full sunlight on a good
day! 1200watts of pv's ought to do the job in a day.

Does Prius even have a plug-in hybrid?
