I still don't see you disagreeing with my claim that very few people buy
batteries or tires from the dealer.

PLENTY of people buy batteries from the dealer, and dealer service
departments have gotten into tires as well.
It's a matter of convenience, and in some cases--I know you won't
believe this--the dealership service dept is a quality operation that
one prefers over anywhere else.

What "recommended service" are you referring to? What type of
transmission? Manual? Automatic? What type of automatic?
Pay attention to Prius technical experts, and they'll have you changing
the transmission oil well inside 100K miles to keep your fuel mileage up.
See, you're making things up out of thin air, not defining what you're
talking about, and so on.

Not so much for mileage, the effect is observed in sub-freezing
temperatures, as much as reduced wear. Oil testing has shown the
transmission oil in the NHW20 is good for about 60k miles and the
NHW11 about 30k miles. However, I'm running a test using the NHW20 oil
in an NHW11 to see how it works out.
I'm also running a test series on the ZVW30. Data indicates an early
change at 5k miles may be key to getting longer service life out of
the oil. The analysis revealed unexpected particulate material and
sealant in the oil. I'll know when I change the oil at 20k miles and
get the test results.

Non-hybrid vehicles all have a transmission that requires periodic
servicing. A Prius does not have a transmission.
